What Is Ashford University?

Nestled in the cozy corner of Clinton, Iowa, Ashford University was founded as Mount St. Clare College in 1918. The college was first accredited in 1950 by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and has been accredited ever since. The college grew steadily over the years, both in size and degrees offered. In 2005, the name was changed to Ashford University.

Today, Ashford University offers more than 25 academic programs, 17 athletic teams, classes with limited size to allow for more interaction between students and teachers, and accelerated classes that allow students to start classes as soon as they are ready and continue their studies year round.

At the associate’s degree level, you can earn an online degree in business or in early childhood education. These programs, available online only, can be completed in as few as nine months, preparing you to enter the workforce or giving you credits to transfer toward a bachelor’s degree program.
